BURLINGTON ARCADE

Built in 1819 by Lord George Cavendish, the world famous Burlington Arcade is protected by Her Majesty's Government as an historic architectural masterpiece of the Prince Regent's London. Each of its shops is a precious antique, an enduring legacy of the city's history. You are expected to obey its Regency laws, still imposed by top-hatted beagles, forbidding you to whistle, sing or hurry. These laws have sustained a high standard of behaviour since Londoners first went shopping in Burlington Arcade!
